Job Summary

Under the direction of the General Manager, responsible for the management of all engineering functions to include but not limited to Process Engineering, Programming, Quoting, and necessary Procedure Development.   Establishes and reviews engineering standards, procedures, and production processes to insure the highest quality output is achieved from the Engineering Department.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Tecomet Quality Management System (QMS). 
    • Support internal and external audits
    • Support CAPA, NCMR resolution and participate in MRB, as needed
    • Oversee engineering department adherence to the QMS
    • Supports all departments relative to interfacing engineering needs
    • Drives and supports teamwork, and a results based mentality
  • Develops engineering talent that can successfully meet all engineering demands, while focusing on exceeding the expectations of both internal and external customers
    • Actively participates in resource planning to ensure that Tecomet can successfully achieve goals and commitments from internal and external customers.
    • In partnership with Human Resources, manages hiring, terminations, performance reviews, mentoring/coaching and employee relations matters
    • Plans succession and development paths for the engineering department and to supply leadership and talent for the changing demands of a growing company
    • Oversees all Engineering departmental functions
  • Develop advanced manufacturing processes and technologies that will enhance the value of our company to our customers
    • Leads department efforts in new tooling, and new machining process exploration, as well as process improvement partnership with Continuous Improvement and Production when applicable.
  • Pursues continuous personal growth in leadership skills, manufacturing trends, and breadth of technical skills
  • Provides support for business development activities
  • Supports customer new product development
  • Supports quoting and estimating
  • Supports clear customer communications
  • Must be flexible with work schedule
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Engineering degree or other technically related field preferred. 
  • Prior management or supervisory experience required; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of EN ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Detailed understanding of medical manufacturing process validations
  • Detailed understanding of the product development process at Tecomet
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Desire to foster a team environment driven by a positive and constructive influence
  • Excellent communication skills written, verbal and presentation
  • Excellent organizational skills; documentation
  • Very good time management skills
