Job Description

Machine Maintenance Team Lead

Responsibilities will include:
* Diagnosis and repair of mechanical/ Electrical and Control faults on all equipment including complex CNC machinery.
* Scheduled maintenance and servicing of equipment to manufacturing standards.
* Manage preventative maintenance schedules using CMMS asset management system.
* Respond rapidly to emergency breakdown situations and create work completion reports.
* Use problem solving tools to reduce downtime and suggest improvements using root cause   analysis techniques.
* Mentor/ train maintenance technicians and less experienced members of the department.
* Attend manufacturing improvement meetings and work cross functionally to resolve issues.
* Work to all relevant safety standards.

The successful Machine Machine Maintenance lead will ideally have:
* Experience in a recognized engineering industrial trade.
* Previous experience repairing machine tools, preferably including CNC machinery such as Swiss lathes, Rolomatic  Grinders , CNC Mills , .
* A solid understanding of  CNC and PLC  control systems.
* Equipment installation and commissioning.


  • Minimum 5 years of related manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and work instructions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Demonstrates use of intermediate computer operations and intermediate software packages.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids and must be able to perform simple shop math.
  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal.    


This position has moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.

  •  Standing; walking; manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
  •  Ability to bend and lift, loading and unloading work pieces into the machine or moving from one workstation to another.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs throughout the shift of work or to other production areas.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work more than 8 hours per day and weekend.
  • Ability to judge depth and distance.
  •  Ability to read fine print (corrected) and distinguish color.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE.
