Job Description

The Molder is responsible for operation and maintenance of production machinery, while working in a safe and effective manner. Produce parts to customer requirements and or company specifications. Utilize good manufacturing practices and follow documentation procedures on appropriate forms provided by the customer/company.  Follow work instructions, procedures, and established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Prime and lube inserts
  • Mold per print specifications
  • Deflash excess silicone
  • Perform in-process quality checks to handles to print
  • Troubleshoot machine and process issues
  • Adhere to general safety rules and manufacturing procedures and company policies
  • Maintain a clean/organized work area.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of GMP’s, ISO and FDA guidelines and requirements.
  • Excellent math, computer, and organizational skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years or more of general manufacturing experience and or knowledge in silicone molding over inserts preferred
  • 1-2 years setup experience, hydraulic transfer press preferred

This position requires walking, sitting, communicating with others at least 1/3 of scheduled hours.

It also involves reaching and using hands and fingers to operate measuring instruments and machinery.  Occasionally requires lifting of up to 50 pounds (under 1/3 of the time).  Must have adequate dexterity with hands and able to work in small areas.

VISION REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to read small print (6-12 font) with or without vision aides. The operator is occasionally required to view items at 20 inches or less, with or without vision aides.

  • Less than 90 decibels (TWA).
  • Requires wearing safety glasses, earplugs (optional) and safety shoes.

  • Work near moving mechanical parts over 2/3 of the time. 
  • Exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals under 1/3 of the time.
  • Exposed to potential hazard from possible projectiles.
