POSITION SUMMARY:

Produce a quality product per print as assigned with average supervision. Must rely on experience and judgment to accomplish goals with above average degree of independence and initiative to complete job requirements in a timely manner.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Programs, sets-up and/or operates assigned equipment to produce quality products per print.
  • Inspects product and documents data as required.
  • Initiates machine adjustments to ensure quality product.

  • Performs additional operations to product as time allows.
  • Creates and maintains accurate data for company organizational records.
  • Organizes and keeps work area clean.
  • Performs periodic operational maintenance.
  • Trains and assists other operators.
  • Completes assigned duties to maintain company records.
  • Performs other related duties as directed or required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to create Mazatrol programs.
  • Must possess advanced math skills.

  • Process flow knowledge required.

  • Read and interpret prints.
  • Use of all inspection equipment, including comparators and CMM.
  • Computer skills for production data entry and programming.
  • Must be able to complete task in a timely fashion.
  • Must be detailed oriented with large emphasis on accuracy.
  • Must be able to multi-task.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years minimum CNC Turning machining center experience.
  • Five years minimum general machine shop experience.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:   

Requires working knowledge and use of calipers, micrometers, indicators, wrenches and multiple other tools to perform repairs, alignments and preventative maintenance of machine shop equipment and periphery equipment.

This position requires walking, sitting, and talking or hearing at least 1/3 of the time, and standing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with h ands and arms over 2/3 of the time Must be able to lift weights from up to 50 pounds under 1/3 of the time.  Must have adequate dexterity with hands and able to work in small areas.

VISION REQUIREMENTS:

Close Vision (Clear vision at 20 inches or less).  Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).  Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).

The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy and presents a hazard from possible projectiles requiring adequate safety items be used.  Example:  safety goggles, earplugs, safety shoes.  Machinery safety guards and switches must always be used in accordance to machinery manufactures specifications.

HAZARDS

Working near moving mechanical parts over 2/3 of the time.  Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals under 1/3 of the time.
