POSITION SUMMARY for OPERATOR

This position requires the operator to produce a quality product per print as assigned with average supervision.  The operator must rely on experience and judgment to accomplish goals with some degree of independence and initiative to complete job requirements in a timely manner.  

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Operates assigned equipment to produce quality products per print.
  • Inspects product and documents data as required.
  • Initiates machine adjustments to ensure quality product.
  • Performs additional operations per supervisor direction.
  • Maintains accurate data for company organizational records.
  • Organizes and keeps work area clean.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must have a basic understanding of G-code systems.
  • Must be able to perform general math calculations.
  • Must be able to reads and interpret drawings.
  • Must be able to use inspection equipment (micrometer, caliper, optical comparator).
  • Must have basic computer skills. (Key-board & mouse navigation, password protection).
  • Must be able to complete task in a timely fashion.
  • Must be detailed oriented with large emphasis on accuracy.
  • Must be able to Multi-task.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year minimum CNC Swiss machining center experience preferred.
  • Three years minimum general machine shop experience preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY for SET-UP/ OPERATOR

This position requires the Set-Up/ Operator to produce a quality product per print as assigned with little supervision.  The operator will train and assist other operators in performing their jobs and trouble-shooting.  The operator must rely on experience and judgment to accomplish goals with above average degree of independence and initiative to complete job requirements in accordance with the production timeline.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Sets-up and/or operates assigned equipment to produce quality products per print.
  • Inspects product and document data as required.
  • Initiates machine adjustments to ensure quality product.
  • Performs additional operations to product as time allows.
  • Creates and maintains accurate data for company organizational records
  • Organizes and keeps work area clean.
  • Trains and assists others as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Has a basic understanding of G-code programming
  • Able to perform basic math skills.
  • Reads and interprets drawings.
  • Able to use inspection equipment (comparator, micrometer, caliper and CMM).
  • Able to navigate PL Controller (ex. Fanuc, Mazatrol, Haas, other).
  • Able to complete task within the given time period.
  • Detail-oriented with large emphasis on accuracy.
  • Able to multi-task.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of CNC Swiss Set Up machining center experience preferred, or two years of experience as a Swiss, Turning or Milling machine center Operator.
  • Five years minimum general machine shop experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

It also involves reaching and using hands and fingers to operate measuring instruments and machinery.  Occasionally requires lifting of up to 50 pounds (under 1/3 of the time).  Must have adequate dexterity with hands and able to work in small areas.

VISION REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to read small print (6-12 font) with or without vision aides. The operator is occasionally required to view items at 20 inches or less, with or without vision aides.
