Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op will assist manufacturing engineers with process improvement plans and new product in load activities. This accomplished by maintaining Tecomet’s principles of Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Innovations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop manufacturing specifications, project timelines, bill of materials, routes and travelers for new and existing products.
  • Assist with cross-functional teams to manufacture precision machined products with tight delivery schedules.
  • Understand and interpret engineering drawings with extensive GD&T to create first piece inspection criteria for new products.
  • Work with manufacturing to reduce scrap, complete time studies and implement 5S programs to better organize the shop.
  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors/Management as deemed appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Machining background a plus
  • Database programming is a plus; Unigraphics a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, have a high drive
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be customer service focused

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • In pursuit of a  B.S. in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
