POSITION SUMMARY:

The Controller is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, keep of an adequate system of accounting records, and a full set of controls and budgets designed to lessen risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. The Controller is a business partner to the site General Manager and location management and supports Corporate Accounting requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the business management team to produce annual budgets and interim forecasts
  • Provide General Manager and Department Managers with monthly operations information relating to sales and gross margin analysis. Evaluate sales by customer and product and impact on profitability.
  • Evaluate manufacturing variances, department variances, and provide relevant information to operations.
  • Evaluate capital projects for financial impact and track capital spending to budget, and provide spending detail
  • Manage cash and provide weekly cash forecasts to corporate
  • Evaluates manufacturing labor rates and manufacturing overhead rates and updates the planned costs to properly value inventory
  • Oversees inventory cycle counts and investigates any material discrepancies, and evaluates inventory for E&O reserves. Provides monthly inventory reporting.
  • Administer activities of Finance department for the accurate and timely distribution of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets.
  • Oversee the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance. quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports; and check statistic management.   • Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.; funding service management, which includes weekly funding reports and customer service;
  • Respond to Corporate as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his/her financial needs.
  • Provide support for the purpose of tax returns completion
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
  • Meet month- end close and other reporting schedules for forecasts and budget creation

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Sarbanes-Oxley rules for financial and information technologies
  • Day-to-day processes of the business cycle
  • Financial and cost accounting principles (took out one line- business systems)
  • Financial reports and understanding of their impact on the business
  • Scheduling work to achieve goals
  • Verbal and written communication and listening skills
  • Problem solving and evaluation
  • Computer operation, Excel, and Hyperion is a plus
  • Project management

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA and/or SMA certification is a plus.
  • .Five to Ten years of hands-on accounting managerial experience.
