EDM CNC Machinist Level 3 - 4

MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 1 year EXPERIENCE WITH EDM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrated ability to:

  • Operate, set up and change over multiple machine types
  • Prove out product
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Assist programmers and engineers in machining methods
  • Assist tool designers in fixture design and fabrication
  • Train Machine Operators
  • Expedite workflow in the department
  • Assist managers with production plans and scheduling
  • Reads blueprints or work order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
  • Complete tasks including dimensional and visual inspections per print specifications, paperwork and MRP transactions.
  • Will train other associates on those tasks that they have acquired proficiency. May assign work of others.
  • Demonstrate consistently effective job performance encompassing good quality and productivity and dependability.
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require.
  • Maintains clean and safe workstation.
  • Performs PMs as required.
  • Accurately records and maintains manufacturing documentation.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate across all levels. May effectively lead team-based activities.
  • Completes necessary production, health, safety, and environmental hazard training courses and other training as assigned.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, States, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance as well as ISO and FDA compliance.
  • Initiate and participates in developing process improvement ideas and sharing them with leadership.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and use of calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, pin gages, functional gages, microhites, comparators and other inspection equipment.
  • Ability to use and read measuring devices (i.e. rulers, calipers, micrometers, reticules, thermometers, gauges).
  • Ability to read blueprints or work order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, to include the ability to read, write and speak.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING EQUIPMENT AND MACHINE COMPETENCIES:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • A minimum of 5 years direct experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Vocational training in machine operations preferred.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs constantly.  The ability to lift 25lbs above the shoulder.
  • Occasional to frequent pushing and pulling.
  • Occasional exposure to heat, cold, fumes and uneven surfaces.
  • Occasional kneeling and stooping.
  • Frequent reaching, crouching, talking and hearing.
  • Ability to perform a range of hand movements and repetitive motions including, simple and gross grasping, fine manipulation and fingering constantly.   The use of hand tools and CNC controls and/or deburring (by hand or grinding wheels).
