FINAL AUDIT INSPECTOR

SUMMARY

Verifies product conformance prior to shipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Verifies documents for regulatory compliance.
  • Performs visual and dimensional inspections of parts.
  • Documents inspection results.
  • Identifies product-needing re-work.
  • Verifies re-worked product conforms to specifications.
  • Completes quality documents daily, such as routers and tags.
  • Checks microstructure of parts.
  • Additional duties as requested by management.
  • May require travel.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Use and knowledge of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, height gages, and comparators.
  • Knowledge of metallurgical concepts and practices.
  • General knowledge customer specifications and standards, and certifications.
  • General knowledge of ISO 9000 standards.

None required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include near, distance, sharpness vision and color and depth perception. This vision exam will be conducted annually.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
