This position has the option to work at any global Tecomet location.  


The Global Program Manager (GPM) role within Tecomet is a key position to enable successful internal, product and/or customer transfers, launches and moves. The GPM role is that of a Program Manager but with a greater perspective.

  • The GPM will be paired with teams of internal, external and customer members. The GPM will lead these teams in order to organize, develop and drive to the desired, agreed to, timing for these events.

  • The GPM will be the “global” conduit for which the customer and sites can request support and or escalate issues regarding a given transfer or launch.

  • The GPM will focus on the due dates and the associated pending actions to enable the appropriate project timing.

  • The GPM needs to be able to see the “critical path” within the overall project and help the team focus on these points.

  • Key areas of regular review for the GPM are broad and covers Facilities, Business, Commercial, Operations, Engineering, Equipment, Quality, Regulatory, Logistics, M&A, Finance, Customerneeds and beyond.

  • The full scope of an assignment is customized to the specific transfer, launch event.

  • The GPM will monitor performance and report on the overall launch or transfer performance and will utilize corporate tools for this. This reporting will be provided to VP-GPM weekly or as the activity requires.

  • The position will interface with all levels of personnel from CEO to site operators as needed.

  • Communication is key given this as is the ability to work at all levels.

  • The GPM does not have direct line responsibility or ownership of personnel but is accountable to the successof the event. This requires the GPM to manage through influence and to gain site, customer, management buy in and support.

  • The GPM must have the ability to know when to escalate an issue while balancing the need to work with key personnel.

  • It is expected that the GPM escalates issues in advance of a customer escalation wherever possible.

  • The GPM will need to grow their knowledge base in terms of key SMEs within overall Tecomet in order to know who to reach out to for specific needs.

  • The GPM will also be assigned “special assignments” from time to time to help drive specific corporate initiatives or projects.

  • The GPM is expected to travel to and interface with the sites performing the transfer, launch on a regular basis so significant travel is expected.


  • Supports and drives the project to timelines developed with the customer, sites.

  • Drives the Kickoff Event for the project launch (specific corp tool set to be used)

  • Customer and Site escalation point during launch, transfer period

  • Drives issues appropriately to the correct discipline area (Commercial-pricing (example)

  • Reviews and is familiar with the customer contracts to know account KOI parameters and key performance objectives, opportunities, other

  • Reports out on transfer, launch performance weekly, as needed (see VP GPM)

  • Supports Receiving Site as overall project owner but takes ownership of key critical path issues and drives these to completion with the site.

  • Looks for potential gaps in understanding between internal and customer team members and drives for clarity.

    • Supports and manages cost reduction initiatives.

    • Drives Capex approval timing as needed

    • Facilitate communication between all functional areas within a location/business group.

    • Facilitates communication with customer as needed including regular interaction in meetings, calls, regular reviews, etc.

    • Drives site NPI to corporate standards (PLC, other) and makes sure site uses all associated tools.

    • Ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.

    • Utilize commercial, site and executive teams effectively in dealing with escalations.

    • Supports and practices Lean initiatives.


  • Proven program management experience.

  • Strong communication skills up and down the organization (verbal, listening, and writing).

  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with customers and within the organizations.

  • Solve problems with minimal supervision and input.

  • Demonstrated ability to make effective and sound decisions.

  • Effectively interface with different levels of the organization to achieve goals.

  • Self-confident and willing to assume a leadership role.

  • Sense of urgency is evident in all aspects of work.

  • Can effectively use all available systems to manage assigned accounts (ERP, workflow management, quoting, account reporting, etc.).

  • Full MS capability in Excel, Project, Word, Power Point, Visio, etc.


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A) and/or two to five years related experience; or equivalent combination education and experience.

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in proven program management required.  PMP certified a plus.

  • Experience in working with customers, sales and marketing, and operations is preferred.
