Job Summary:

This is a consultative role focused on enabling internal clients to achieve business results with a solution focused mindset. The incumbent is seen as an operational expert and a strategic resource for the organization. Key for the HRBP is a viewpoint in sharing responsibility for the outcomes that the business achieves. While compliance and ensuring consistent processes are an important part of this role, a successful HRBP will equip key clients with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage their people in line with their people plans. Generally, the HRBP will have primary responsibility for multiple sites. Incumbent will be expected to demonstrate and model leadership in Tecomet’s principles of Continuous Improvement, Customer Driven Innovation and a Win First Culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Internal organization consultant and change management partner;
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management;
  • Develops and implements strategies targeted at onboarding, engagement and retention;
  • Participates in the development of people programs such as performance management, diversity and inclusion and training and development; serves as key driver of implementation;
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system;
  • Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance;
  • Manage HR projects to increase efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Partner with people leaders to identify and prepare development plans for key high potential employees;
  • Takes responsibility as the expert in the people management area and facilitates key people discussions with the management team;
  • Monitors and ensures organization maintains a low risk for unionization;
  • Acts as a single point of the contact for the employees and managers;
  • Proactively supports the delivery of HR processes;
  • Manages complex and difficult HR projects cross-functionally;
  • Builds a strong business relationship with the internal clients;
  • Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implement changes necessary to cover risks;
  • Acts as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in people management;
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management;
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor;
  • 20% - 30% travel required.

Qualification Requirements

Educational/Training Requirement:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Masters degree preferred

Experience:

  • Five or more years of employee relations and/or labor relations experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor laws, EEO laws and wage and hour laws.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification highly preferred and/or
  • PHR or SPHR certification highly preferred
