Job Description

Tecomet Riviera Beach, FL, is a contract manufacturer of high precision machined parts, medical device components and electro-mechanical assemblies. We specialize in machining precision parts from titanium, aluminum, stainless steel and plastics that demand close tolerance and superior cosmetic finishing.  Due to growth and expansion, we are currently seeking Quality Inspectors for our 1st shift . 


This position is responsible for inspecting product to ensure parts meet customer expectations and Tecomet Standard Operating Procedures.  Inspections on all finished parts to ensure they meet the established specifications and report any non-conforming parts to supervisor.


  • Perform routine in-process and final inspections at the direction of the QC Leader using standard measuring equipment – Micrometers, Calipers Drop Indicators, Optical Comparator, etc.
  • Perform inspections using coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and visual measurement machines (VMM)
  • Perform Visual Inspections using microscopes.
  • Perform incoming inspection of material using standard measuring tools and special Material tester.
  • Document Non-conformances as per operating procedures.
  • Generate spreadsheets for data collection.
  • Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments.
  • Interact with Inspectors as needed.
  • Test incoming raw materials.
  • Perform 1st piece inspections (parts off a specific Manufacturing Operation) of components/parts using inspection equipment ranging from micrometers/calipers to Optical Measuring systems to determine compliance to specifications.
  • Perform special functional testing such as “Force testing”, “Material Identification”, “Hardness Testing” as specified/required by inspection criteria or at the direction of the QC Leader or above.
  • Perform internal measuring equipment calibrations.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor


  • Minimum of 2 years as an Inspector in quality control function in manufacturing environment or equivalent
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Basic Knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawings
  • Knowledge and experience with inspection/measuring equipment including but limited to:
  • Micrometers – Outside, point & blade,
    • Calipers and Drop Indicators
    • Vision / Optical Inspection systems – such as Optical Comparators and/or VMM (MicroVu, Ram Optical)
  • CMM – Such as Zeiss and Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word / EXCEL 
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Basic knowledge of statistical process control


  • Ability to frequently lift objects that are 25 pounds or more

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and vision
