POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for prioritizing work orders and assigning the necessary resources to finish components to meet manufacturing schedules.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Work may include bending, blasting, tumbling, buffing, polishing, grinding, marking, electro polishing, cleaning and hand filing.

  • Prioritize work orders with other cell members to ensure production schedules are maintained.

  • Perform transactions in company system.

  • Ensure documentation accuracy.

  • Practice line clearance throughout all finishing operations.

  • Maintain quality compliance.

  • Work at different work stations as production needs require.

  • Perform self-inspection on all finishing work performed.

  • Conduct basic quality inspection of own or other's work in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

  • Maintains clean and orderly workstation.

  • Complete basic production, health, safety, and environmental hazard training courses.

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, States, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.

  • Ability to work varying shifts and overtime hours when required.

  • Actively participates in team activities including process improvement recommendations and implementation, and demonstrates strong commitment to teamwork.

  • Demonstrate consistently effective job performance encompassing good quality, quality of work, and dependability.

  • Train others as needed.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and use of calipers, micrometers, pin gages, functional gages, and other inspection equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of math, blueprint reading and marking.

  • Ability to complete required documentation requirements.

  • Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.

  • Participate in team-based activities.

  • Understand and is able to apply regulatory (QSR, ISO, GMP) requirements in everyday activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Candidate must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • One to five (5) years’ experience using grinding, buffing, and blasting machines.

  • Some related experience and/or training is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

CNC Machines, Calipers, Micrometers, Indicators, Wrenches.

VISION REQUIREMENTS



The operator must be able to read small print font (6-12 inch) with our without vision aides. The operator is occasionally required to view items at 20 inches or less, with or without vision aides.

  • Work near moving mechanical parts over 2/3 of the time.
  • Exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals under 1/3 of the time.
  • Exposed to potential hazard from possible projectiles.
