Job Description

SUMMARY:

Assist Management Team in creating a lean culture at Tecomet.  To promote and drive a culture that reduces waste and lead time, thereby reducing costs and increasing throughput through the use of Lean principles. This is accomplished by utilizing this company’s standards of Safety, Quality, Schedule and Customer Innovation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for facilitating this company’s Lean initiative and strategy.
  • Provide leadership / mentoring / training to all levels of the operation on the use and practice of Lean methodology and tools.
  • Support plant operations management in the development, planning and execution of a Lean strategy and metrics.
  • Responsible for planning and assisting in the execution of various Lean transformation events and projects targeted towards improving the business’s performance on safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Provide on-going Lean/Kaizen orientation training for new employees.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and coordinate Kaizen events.
  • Assist all areas with Kaizen audits; provide written reports.
  • Keep management updated on all Kaizen progress.
  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by management as deemed appropriate.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possess strong communication and training skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated.
  • Tenacity and energy in leading change towards an effective work environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel spreadsheets.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Progressive, flexible and team oriented.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four year college or fifth year college or university program certificate and/or a minimum of three to five years of Lean experience combined with extensive manufacturing experience.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Well lighted, heated/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.

  • Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.

  • Ability to maneuver throughout the facility/facilities as needed.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.

  • Ability to wear proper PPE
