Job Description


Supports Lean conversion of maintenance activities, including TPM program development and transition to computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Interacts with vendors, and develops clear visual maintenance instructions and procedures. Mechanically repairs, services, adjusts and maintains all types of high speed production machinery and equipment.  Maintenance of manufacturing equipment including but not exclusive to sheet metal processing equipment – punches, laser cutting machines, brake bending, shearing and surface processing (i.e. Timesaver) equipment.


  • Develops, revises and improves existing equipment maintenance instructions
  • Supports and drives transition to electronic maintenance database system/CMMS
  • Supports and drives transition to TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Program on assigned equipment
  • Owns the tracking and resolution of unplanned machine downtime
  • Interacts with vendors and suppliers as needed to complete maintenance tasks required
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all assigned machinery in facility by developing a schedule for continuous prevention.
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine reason for malfunctioning of machines and equipment.  Disassembles equipment to locate defective parts; removes and replaces parts.
  • Recognize the need for repairs on equipment and be able to complete the repair in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to use all machinery and tools required for any assigned equipment maintenance activities.
  • Order materials/supplies as needed; keep detailed records of all work completed.  Work with vendors to complete any duties as needed.
  • Program and maintain various types of PLCS Controls (programmable logic controller)
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Must have working knowledge and experience operating in Lean Maintenance and Manufacturing environment – TPM, Predictive testing, Gemba, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Kamishibai, STOP Auditing, etc.
  • Key resource in driving Lean activities in Maintenance operations.
  • Must have working knowledge of electric, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, schematics, engineered drawings etc.   Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively in a one on one setting as well as before small groups of employees of the organization.
  • Shop math and basic trigonometry.  Ability to read and interpret bar graphs & data.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.


High School Diploma or GED 5+ years of related experience.


  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to and over 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to wet/humid/dirty conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat and vibration.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE when needed


Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic test equipment. General hand and power tools. Powered industrial equipment as required.
