Job Summary

Under the direction of the Production Manager, maintains the Quality system as directed. Work with minimal supervision to meet customer due dates.  Possesses all basic and some advanced skills and knowledge.  Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of moderately complex, mechanically operated machinery in the production process.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for understanding the Tecomet Quality Management System (QMS).  Effectively maintains quality system.
  • Knows and follows all safety requirements.
  • Responsible for the start-up, operation, adjustment to proper parameters, preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and cleaning of the equipment. 
  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
  • Has a thorough understanding of the process flow.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
  • Keep critical machinery and assemblies operating as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Run product to meet defined output rates.
  • Commits minimal documentation errors.
  • Performs measurement tasks at an intermediate skill level.
  • Basic mathematical skills required.
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language.
  • Travel to other plant locations may be required; dependent upon production needs.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associates degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.
  • 2-4 years related machining experience, education and/or training.
  • Working knowledge of EN ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Sets good examples for others; good role model.

  • Considers the impact on the customer when making decisions.
  • Willingly shares skills and knowledge.
  • Effectively gives and receives feedback.
  • Ensures all details of a task are accomplished properly.

  • Maintain a clean work area and personal appearance; daily shift cleaning required.
  • Works well as a member of the team.

    1. Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  2. Visual Abilities
    1. Average visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery, including personal computer
  3. Hearing
    1. Able to hear average or normal conversation
    2. Moderate-loud noise level
  4. Physical Strength
    1. Position requires sitting and standing most of the time
    2. Exerts up to 30 pounds of force occasionally
