Job Description

SUMMARY

Mechanically repairs, services, adjusts and maintains all types of high speed production machinery and equipment. Maintenance of manufacturing equipment including but not exclusive to CNC, EDM, Laser marking, and supplemental machinery. Support the needs manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recognize the need for repairs on equipment and be able to complete the repair in a timely fashion.
  • Obtain price and delivery quotations from suppliers
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine reason for malfunctioning of machines and equipment.
  • Disassembles equipment to locate defective parts; removes and replaces parts.
  • Control MRO cost increases through price quotations and supplier negotiation
  • Primary custodian for the spare parts inventory control system.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all assigned machinery in facility by developing a schedule for continuous prevention.
  • Ability to communicate with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and third parties to obtain information on spare / replacement parts.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have working knowledge and experience operating in Lean Maintenance and Manufacturing environment – TPM, Predictive testing, Gemba, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Kamishibai, STOP Auditing, etc.
  • Key resource in driving Lean activities in Maintenance operations.
  • Must have working knowledge of electric, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, schematics, engineered drawings etc.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively in a one on one setting as well as before small groups of employees of the organization.
  • Shop math and basic trigonometry. Ability to read and interpret bar graphs & data.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school or GED. One to five years manufacturing experience/education or combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of electric, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation processes.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to and over 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to wet/humid/dirty conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat and vibration.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE when needed

EQUIPMENT USED:

Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic test equipment. General hand and power tools. Powered industrial equipment as required.
