Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to provide support to the manufacturing/operations team by overseeing manufacturing processes, participate in value stream kaizens, train team members as well as work in the production cell when needed. This position will assist the team to achieve the planned goals of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity.


  • Communicate effectively with operators, team members, group leaders and management to facilitate initiatives.
  • Lead the team during Gemba meetings, responsible for Quality (SQDIP)
  • Troubleshoot non-conforming product through the Material Review Board and disposition NCR’s
  • Perform first piece inspection as well as a dimensional roaming inspection utilizing Win SPC
  • Create/alter new program in Win SPC as needed.
  • Provide motivational leadership and direction to all team members to achieve goals of the company
  • Support Engineering and Quality during validation processes
  • Provide support in cross-training of team members to allow for flexibility and unexpected changes in customer demand.
  • Be the “go-to” person for dimensional/cosmetic related problems in the area


High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years’ field experience


  • Basic computer skills with an ability to grow and learn 
  • Experience working in and leading teams
  • Proficient in identifying cosmetically related defects in the plastics and metal manufacturing industry
  • Proficient in applied geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Capable of troubleshooting product non-conformances

Working Conditions/Physical Abilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Stand, walk, and talk or hear 
  • Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
