Job Description


Currently looking for a 2nd shift Production Supervisor to lead and direct our Production team. Responsibilities include training and directing individuals who are performing entry level, factory work positions on one of our fast paced shifts. This is a Supervisory position, with hands-on responsibility and accountability for daily production flow and bottom line results.


  • Oversee all aspects of safety, quality, and production in the plant for an assigned shift.
  • Lead, direct, and execute on production, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping.
  • Manage self and others assertively with attention to detail and a sense of urgency
  • Supervises staff engaged in operational activities on designated shift; accountable for the performance of tasks.
  • Sets and prioritizes daily activities of department staff on designated shift
  • Evaluates work performance and provides regular feedback to the Production Manager
  • Trains and instructs employees in proper techniques for given operations or jobs.
  • Orders supplies for departments and works in conjunction with outside suppliers and contractors as needed.
  • Ensures housekeeping and Safety Standards are met.
  • Works with department leaders on production issues and communicates with other departments as needed to resolve issues.
  • Conduct and participate in ‘Lean Manufacturing’ projects and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Additional duties as requested by management.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED; A four year college degree or equivalent 4-7 years’ work experience preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to speak effectively and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to groups including customers, clients or employees of the organization.  Must be bilingual in Spanish.

Must communicate information and state challenges to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous, nondiscriminatory and professional manner, and be able to provide clarification as necessary.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to formulate, affect, interpret or implement management policies or operating practices.  Ability to affect business operations with independent judgment and decision making.  Ability to plan for long or short term business objectives.  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

Technical Skills

Working knowledge of personal computer, keyboard, and various software programs.
Knowledge of various office equipment.
Knowledge of department specific documentation such as: recordkeeping, quality standards, efficiency standards, operational processes, material, equipment and design standards.
Department specific technical knowledge such as 5S & O.E.E. knowledge, Lean Manufacturing principles, Manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, gage and fixture inspection/measuring equipment as it relates to the department needs.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands or arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.  The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
