JOB SUMMARY:  

Assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Hillburn plant with focus on human resources, purchasing, and accounting/billing.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform day to day human resources tasks with focus on employee relations,  recruiting, reporting, team building, etc with support from a corporate HR team
  • Ensure all company policies & procedures are followed
  • Builds rapport with employees at all levels to allow for smooth and professional business operations
  • Payroll-maintain Kronos payroll system and ensure timecard accuracy
  • Billing – processing and submitting of invoices to A/P.  Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies.
  • Control/administer/track purchase orders.  Vendor negotiation as needed.
  • Ensure the day-to-day efficient operation of the office.
  • Maintain office records.
  • Ensure filing systems are maintained and up to date.
  • Ensure protection and security of files and records
  • Transfer and dispose of records according to retention schedules and policies.
  • Additional duties as requested by management team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Human Resources:  General knowledge of FLSA, benefits, timekeeping, payroll.  Safety knowledge a plus.
  • Able to discretely handle professional and personal information.
  • Requires strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Must help support and drive change initiatives with a cheerful and positive disposition
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office tools:  Excel and Word required
  • Knowledge of various types of office equipment
  • Familiarity with New York State Labor Laws a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

This position requires an Associate’s Degree and two to five years of office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.   Must have performed Human Resource duties and have a solid understanding of the Human Resource role.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Office setting in manufacturing facility
  • Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature
  • Hand dexterity, keyboarding, and many forms of communication (electronic, verbal, phone and face to face)
  •  Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the facility as needed
