Position: Operations Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for directing, coordinating and managing assigned manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, on time delivery, productivity and budget goals while maintaining a focus on our customer needs.  Provides leadership and coaching to all Production management on all shifts in both the primary and the secondary process operations. Accountable for the implementation and maintenance of  production methods and tooling applications that optimize the use of production hours, human resources, machines, equipment and facilities. Lead production meetings and participate in planning production schedules, staffing requirements and manufacturing controls to achieve optimal product flow. Expedite scheduled production, investigate delays, and initiate corrective and preventive actions to assure economical production through efficient procedures and processes. Administer company rules, regulations, policies, and ethics governing production.


  • Observes and enforces all company rules and policies pertaining to safety, particularly related to hazardous materials and general housekeeping.
  • Ensures FDA, ISO, Tecomet, and specific customer quality standards and procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Responsible for meeting internal and external quality, on time delivery, on-time delivery attainment and productivity goals.
  • Performs administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the manufacturing operations including Tecomet goals and objectives, planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the plant.
  • Analyzes the plant production and quality to detect and correct problems and implements preventive solutions.
  • Properly identifies and addresses training needs.
  • Works with other departments such as Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Planning to achieve continuous process improvements and cost reductions by utilizing Lean tolls and techniques.
  • Supervises, coordinates, trains, coaches, mentors and develops manufacturing supervisors in primary and secondary operations for all shifts.
  • Performs related duties as required.


  • College degree, technical degree or equivalent experience required;
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in machining manufacturing operations with 2-3 years in a management role required.
  • Lean Manufacturing practices and experience required.
  • Experience with a multi-shift operation required.
  • Experience in either medical device or aerospace manufacturing preferred.  Contract manufacturing may be substituted.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, Factory Wiz, and Microsoft products preferred.


  • Able to meet safety, regulatory and health guidelines.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
  • There is a requirement to wear PPE in the role.


  • Working knowledge of all aspects of production, quality standards, company policies, and procedures as well as understanding CFR 820.
  • Ability to support long term strategic site goals and provide leadership in daily tactical objectives in operations and planning.
  • Thorough knowledge of CNC machining and processes (Turning, Milling, Swiss) as well as Finishing operations and packaging in a clean room environment.
  • Clear communication with the ability to convey information to both team members and managers.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving skills and conflict management experience
