Job Description


Oversee management of all areas of manufacturing which includes the utilization of CNC machines to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are manufactured on-schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.


  • Oversee all aspects of safety, quality, and production in the plant for an assigned shift.
  • Be point person for shift personnel, help to quickly resolve all manufacturing issues, interact with functional departments such as Quality, Engineering and HR
  • Ensure Safety, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing standards are met for each department on assigned shift.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost while monitor scrap and rework data.
  • Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.). Ensure all company processes and procedures are followed.
  • Work effectively and relate well with others. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others, working to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
  • Take a continuous improvement (CI) Approach using the tools of Lean such as 5s, VSM, SMED, Kaizen, etc.  in order to improve process efficiency and determine root cause corrective actions for Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Communicably accurately and timely with all functional departments, take a data driven approach and monitor and react to various departmental KPIs
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.


  • College degree, technical degree or equivalent experience required;
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in machining manufacturing operations with 2-3 years in a management role required.
  • Lean Manufacturing practices and experience required.
  • Experience in either medical device or aerospace manufacturing preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products preferred.


  • Able to meet safety, regulatory and health guidelines.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
  • There is a requirement to wear PPE in the role.


  • Working knowledge of all aspects of production, quality standards, company policies, and procedures
  • Ability to support long term strategic site goals and provide leadership in daily tactical objectives in operations and planning.
  • Thorough knowledge of CNC machining and processes (Turning, Milling, Swiss) as well as Finishing operations and packaging in a clean room environment.
  • Clear communication with the ability to convey information to both team members and managers.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving skills and conflict management experience
