Job Description

QA Inspector I

Inspect product to ensure parts meet customer expectations and Tecomet’s Standard Operating Procedures.  Assist in achieving company’s safety, quality, schedule and cost.


  • Responsible for performing dimensional/visual inspections of completed products.
  • Perform functionality test of product.
  • Become efficient in detecting product defects.
  • Proficient in paperwork requirements pertaining to individual customers.
  • Repair and maintain gauges, measuring and test devices.
  • Communicates closely with planners, schedulers and machinists to solve quality issues.
  • Well organized and able to prioritize work to meet shipping schedules and maintain quality standards
  • Capable of communicating with Quality Engineers to resolve quality problems


  • Proficient in reading micrometers, calipers, and capable of learning to operate the CMM.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as circumferences, areas, proportions.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Proficient in personal computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Vantage.
  • Ability to comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.  Report all unsafe activities to immediate supervisor.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE.


  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions/Physical Abilities:

  • Well lighted, heated/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the facility/facilities as needed.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE
  • Must be able to lift 25 lb.
