Perform inspections and quality assurance testing for analysis of materials, in process, and finished products.  Uses knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job.  Works under general supervision.


  • Performs and processes inspections on finished product.
  • Conducts in-process welding, assembly, function, and laser mark inspections.
  • Performs incoming inspections.
  • Assists in training new hires.  Training is not a job-specific duty to any one person.
  • Provides guidance to cleaning and packaging on visual acceptability.


  • Knowledge of the company quality system, as well as contractual quality requirements, which vary from customer to customer.
  • Automated inspection equipment experience preferred.
  • Ability and knowledge of use with optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, height stands, radius gages, etc. as well as computers preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Detail oriented with large emphasis on accuracy/efficiency.
  • Able to multi-task; good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO-13485, GD&T, and blueprint reading.
  • Able to work under general supervision and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work overtime and extended work hours required.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years minimum experience in the field or related field.

This position requires walking, sitting, communicating with others at least 1/3 of scheduled hours.

It also involves reaching and using hands and fingers to operate measuring instruments and machinery.  Occasionally requires lifting of up to 50 pounds (under 1/3 of the time).  Must have adequate dexterity with hands and able to work in small areas.


Must be able to read small print (6-12 font) with or without vision aides. The operator is occasionally required to view items at 20 inches or less, with or without vision aides.

  • Less than 90 decibels (TWA).
  • Requires wearing safety glasses, earplugs (optional) and safety shoes.

  • Exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals under 1/3 of the time.
  • Exposed to potential hazard from possible projectiles.
