POSITION SUMMARY:

Finish or polish all levels of parts from simple to complex without guidance or assistance; and process parts in an efficient and timely manner.  Provide production support to less skilled employees.  Must be able to meet production schedule according to the standard of Safety, Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Innovation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform the full range of most complex finishing operations.
  • Set up and operate all necessary finishing equipment with no assistance.
  • Know and recognize all types of material, ex., stainless or titanium.
  • Know how to polish complex welds.
  • Polish R&D prototype parts.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • Ability to read blueprints and utilize measuring instruments to ensure parts are finished according to specifications and within tolerance levels.
  • Ability to maintain the correct configuration of the part throughout the finishing process.
  • Ability to recognize problems with parts and provide solutions or suggestions to correct problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers to achieve production goals.
  • Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Clean and Pack.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years of related experience and/or training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position has moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily production/technical nature.

  • The following physical/environmental demands could occur up to and exceed two-thirds of the time:
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
  • The following physical/environmental demands occur from one-third up to two-thirds of the time:
  • Ability stand and/or sit for an eight hour shift.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work for 8 hours per day and potentially on weekends.
  • Ability to judge depth and distance.
  • Ability to read fine print and distinguish color.
  • Ability to reach/handle items and work with their fingers.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE.
