Job Description


Assist in setting the site capacity plan to align with the sales from the integrated business plan, while meeting business objectives of safety, quality, on-time delivery, competitive customer lead times, profitability and inventory. Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to the plan while achieving customer requirements.  Work closely with functional teams to determine progress of work, completion dates, and production problems with parts.  Identify and resolve job costing issues and other accounting problems associated with work in process problems.


  • Align production with actual demand, through the merging of tactical and strategic planning methods across any number of organizational functions (Oliver Wight tools).

  • Manage jobs for standard products utilizing the site ERP system, including travelers, closing, and inventory.

  • Resolve shop floor issues involving production and scheduling problems.

  • Support planning metrics, data analysis, creation, publication, and monitoring.

  • Oversee customers and their requirements including forecasts and inventory.

  • Assist with capacity planning and lean activities.

  • Communicate with Team Leaders as needed.

  • Communicate closely with the accounting department to insure job costing accuracy.

  • Effectively manages work and sets performance expectations to reach and exceed departmental goals.

  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisor/management as deemed appropriate.


  • Ability to assimilate information quickly, possesses strong decision making abilities and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of contract manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of site ERP system and proficient with Material requirement planning (MRP) and capacity planning, experience in with assembly BOM’s required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project or equivalent software programs.

  • Knowledge of S&OP/IBP Planning and lean concepts.

  • Able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Able to recognize and solve practical problems that may deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.


  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year University;

  • Or 5-8 years relevant work experience;

  • Or combination with relevant industry training (APICS, IBF, Oliver Wight).
