Job Summary

Supervises, trains, mentors a team of operators to achieve Tecomet’s goals.  Responsible for the performance of defined product lines.  Sets a good example for others to follow.

Essential Job Functions

  • Knows, follows and enforces all safety requirements.
  • Has completed the Lead Training Program with passing marks.
  • Supervises a team of employees to meet or exceed defined Quality requirements and Productivity goals.
  • Promotes a healthy team environment, disciplines appropriately, rewards extraordinary performance, and resolves conflicts quickly and effectively.
  • Works with underperforming team members on improvement plans.
  • Exercises excellent judgment and initiative in resolving complex problems. 
  • Capable of managing the start-up, operation, adjustment to proper parameters, preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and cleaning of the equipment. 
  • Exercises flawless documentation practices.
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language.
  • Facilitates routine troubleshooting, with support resources as necessary.
  • Oversees accuracy in production reporting and payroll clocking.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 4+ years related machining experience, education and/or training.
  • Working knowledge of EN ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required, including email, Shop Floor Manager, and QC-Calc.
  • A high level of initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Sets good examples for others; good role model.
  • Ensures that all details of a task are accomplished properly.
  • Recognizes, initiates and leads improvement activities.
  • Contributes to the development of the department.
  • Supports new ideas and helps to implement them.
  • Considers the impact on the customer when making decisions.

  1. Repetitive Motions
    1. Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  2. Visual Abilities
    1. Average visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery, including personal computer
  3. Hearing
    1. Able to hear average or normal conversation
    2. Moderate-loud noise level
  4. Physical Strength
    1. Position requires sitting and standing most of the time
    2. Exerts up to 30 pounds of force occasionally
