JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the hiring practice insuring it is fully compliant with current state and federal employment legislation.  The Generalist position will also coordinate a multitude of benefit responsibilities for the division and conduct a variety of functions to service the employees and managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for coordinating and managing the full-cycle hiring process for all exempt and non-exempt positions within the company.
  • Compiles all monthly reports and any other reports required by Company leadership.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the Company benefit plan.
  • Prepares government reports related to EEO compliance for the entire Company.
  • Maintains the HRIS system.
  • Represents HR at each facility in a professional and objective fashion.
  • Manages and/or composes internal communications between management and employees.
  • Manages the development and adherence to the Company’s AA/EEO programs per federal regulation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Human Resource procedures, policies, and legislation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Possesses a strong background in benefit programs including wellness, safety, and environmental.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills dealing with a variety of people.
  • Must be self-motivated; able to work with little supervision.
  • Computer skills in Windows environment and HR tracking systems
  • Possesses verbal, written communication, and listening skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Possesses the ability to define problems, evaluate situations and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to handle all situations in a confidential manner.
  • Ability to speak in front of people in a variety of settings.
  • Keep current in an ever-changing human resource world, as well as, government changes.
  • Be flexible and adapt to changes in the market place.
  • Meet goals and objectives set by manager.
  • Ability to make decisions in a consistent, professional manner.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; or, one to two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Attaining a PHR/SPHR Certification could be included as a goal of this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Well lighted, heated/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the facility/facilities as needed.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE wear

       TRAVEL:                   

•         Occasional over-night travel.
