Job Summary

Broad scope to include AR, Cash, Payroll processing and Intercompany transactions: Responsible for the review and analysis of general ledger transactions and accounts, using technical judgement to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded, and assists in the monthly close. Collects and records payments from customers; resolves customer issues regarding payments and outstanding past due balances. Performs payroll function. Processes and maintains intercompany accounts. Assists Finance Manager in month-end duties, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations. Performs other general accounting, financial reporting or special project responsibilities, as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

  • Process cash receivables and performs AR invoicing to customers on a daily basis; posts the transactions to the ERP system
  • Performs payroll function including timesheet corrections, interfacing data to 3rd party payroll provider, 401k payments management, and overall payroll-related reporting
  • Performs Intercompany Accounts Receivable/Payables invoicing
  • Reviews and follows up on past due accounts to drive collections
  • Prepares journal entries in support of monthly close
  • Preparation for year-end financial audit and various other audits (tax, payroll-related, etc.)
  • Involvement with other tasks or projects across the entire scope of the finance/accounting function, as needed

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have knowledge of general accounting principles and ability to apply such knowledge on a daily basis
  • Has the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Experience with payroll processing desired
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office products; strong Excel user; strong math skills required
  • Must demonstrate high level of professionalism within Tecomet and with our customers and/or suppliers
  • MUST maintain Absolute Confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Has sufficient flexibility in work schedule to deliver on Tecomet’s needs
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts across all departments
  • Shares skills and knowledge with others; willing to cross-train in finance/accounting function
  • Effectively gives and receives feedback
