Job Description

Tecomet in Riviera Beach, Florida is a contract manufacturer of high precision machined parts, medical device components and electro-mechanical assemblies. We specialize in machining precision parts from titanium, aluminum, stainless steel and plastics that demand close tolerance and superior cosmetic finishing. We are currently seeking a Tool Maker for our fast growing Tool Room.  In exchange, we offer  exciting work projects and employee benefits starting day one of employment. 


  • Evaluates blueprints or specifications and visualizes shape of die, part, or tool.
  • Proposes manufacturing processes for proper fixturing.
  • Redesigns fixtures to increase quality standards and productivity.
  • Maintains and updates any revisions working in conjunction with Engineers assigned to specific job.
  • Smooths and polishes flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloth or surface grinder.
  • Draw specialty tool and product designs based on requests/descriptions.
  • Actively participates in 5S daily operator checklist responsibilities.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by production supervisor to meet Company production goals.


  • Ability to convey written instructions to machinist and other departmental staff as needed.
  • Ability to work independently to create project fixturing and to identify problems.
  • Ability to use creativity and ingenuity to take a general concept from the idea state to a finished item while improving its functionality.
  • Use knowledge of the manufacturing process to improve operations through effective design of tools and fixtures.
  • Must have skills for set-up and operation of most types of machines plus possess finishing process skills for making work product.
  • Fixture Design.
  • Measuring equipment, i.e. micrometers, calipers, height gages, comparators, CMM
  • Participate as a team member when asked for a kaizen event.
  • Lean and practice daily any/all Lean practices introduced in the area.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully with others and work in a team environment.
  • Able to meet production metrics as required for position.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements per the employee handbook policy.
  • Knowledge and experience in the set-up and manual machining of various grades of plastic, urethanes, aluminum, tool steel and other materials to +/-.0001” in come applications.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as circumference, volume, percentages, area and proportions.
  • Able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


  • High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Machinist’s Journeyman’s Certificate a plus.
