LEVEL  1

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform various secondary production operations to support Open and Endo Clip Applier Instrument making.  Operate various machine tools for curving, riveting, assembly, polishing, sanding, tumbling, powder coating and cleaning operations. Perform routine cleaning maintenance on secondary equipment.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Performs secondary assembly operations utilizing riveting and curving machines to install flags and springs as well as curving tips of various applier instruments.

  • Performs satin finishing and buffing of components as needed.

  • Bead blasts parts to required finish.

  • Polishes, bead blasts, finishes and assembles sub-assemblies for Endoscopic Appliers.

  • Loads, monitors and unloads parts in vibratory tumble machine to meet specified finish.

  • Performs the Oakite, Penblitz and Sonic Cleaning process for cleaning instruments.

  • Powder coats instruments which includes use of prime heat furnace, dipping in color coating tank and placing in curing furnace.

  • Cleans and maintains Oakite, Penblitz tanks.

  • Cleans and maintains dust collectors on bead blast and polishing equipment.

  • Performs duties in Pack/Ship department to ensure OTD to customer.

  • Picks parts and issues to shop orders.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and equipment upkeep including replacing worn components as necessary.

  • Actively participates in continuous improvement efforts and teamwork.

  • Identifies areas of cost savings, waste reduction, and methods to improve processes, quality, and efficiencies.

  • Performs special projects and assists in other areas of plant production as needed.

  • Perform Tip Setting of QSA Product

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Workmanship consists of an ability to hand fabricate with machine assistance finished medical devices within standard times. Quality is a must and proficiency is a requirement.

  • Experience in a manufacturing facility a plus.

  • Working knowledge and use of calipers, micrometers, indicators, wrenches and multiple other tools to perform repairs, alignments and preventative maintenance of machine shop equipment and periphery equipment.

  • Ability to complete work in a safe manner and without generating excessive scrap.

  • Detail-oriented and efficient.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to work under general supervision and follow instructions.

  • Ability to do repetitive motions and inspections without losing focus.

  • Good eye-hand coordination and ability to do fine hand-work is essential.

  • Good mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to read and interpret prints.

  • Ability to work independently.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Technical school preferred

  • Experience in Polishing a plus

  • Math with the ability to add and subtract decimals

  • Prefer previous computer skills with Microsoft Office knowledge
