Responsible for performing various secondary production operations to support TecoGRASP production as well as instrument making.  Operates various machine tools for riveting, assembly, machining, bending, brazing, deburring, polishing, sanding, tumbling, and cleaning operations for TNCO product.  Performs routine cleaning maintenance on secondary equipment.


  • Performs satin finishing and buffing of components as needed.

  • Deburrs parts utilizing various automated and hand held deburring tools.

  • Bead blasts parts to required finish.

  • Bends and brazes parts utilizing induction heating equipment.

  • Loads, monitors and unloads parts in vibratory and centrifugal tumble machines to meet specified finish.

  • Performs the Sonic Cleaning and Electro polish process for cleaning instruments.

  • Performs heat treat process utilizing heat treat ovens

  • May perform duties in Pack/Ship department to ensure OTD to customer.

  • May operate manual as well as CNC machines.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and equipment upkeep including replacing worn components as necessary.

  • Actively participates in continuous improvement efforts and teamwork.

  • Identifies areas of cost saving, waste reduction, and methods to improve processes, quality, and efficiencies.

  • Performs special projects and assists in other areas of plant production as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Workmanship consists of an ability to hand fabricate with machine assistance finished medical devices within standard times. Quality is a must and proficiency is a requirement.

  • Experienced in a manufacturing facility a plus.

  • Ability to complete work in a safe manner and without generating excessive scrap.

  • Detail oriented and efficient.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Able to work under general supervision and follow instructions.

  • Ability to do repetitive motions and inspections without losing focus.

  • Good eye-hand coordination and ability to do fine hand-work is essential.

  • Good mechanical aptitude is essential.

  • Ability to read and interpret prints is required.

  • Ability to work independently.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Technical school preferred

  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Experience in Polishing a plus

  • Math with the ability to add and subtract decimals

  • Prefer previous computer skills with Microsoft Office knowledge

This position requires walking, sitting, communicating with others at least 1/3 of scheduled hours.

It also involves reaching and using hands and fingers to operate measuring instruments and machinery.  Occasionally requires lifting of up to 50 pounds (under 1/3 of the time).  Must have adequate dexterity with hands and able to work in small areas.


Must be able to read small print (6-12 font) with or without vision aides. The operator is occasionally required to view items at 20 inches or less, with or without vision aides.
